Alumna, Abisola Santos Bags a PhD in Organizational Leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas

 University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, TexasDecember 2015: Abisola Santos graduated from CMUL in August 1991, after which she completed her NYSC service posting with University College Hospital, Ibadan. While with NYSC, she was also posted to serve with the volleyball and football teams of the NYSC as their Physiotherapist. After completing the NYSC service year, she continued working with UCH as a Physiotherapist from 1991-1992.

In October 1992, she relocated from Nigeria to Lansing Michigan, USA to work with a Homecare Network as Physical Therapist, Case Manager until 2005. In 2003, she enrolled in the MBA program at the Michigan State University's Eli Broad College of Business. She graduated with her MBA degree in December 2004.

Abisola relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas, to work with a Health system as a Lead therapist in charge of the float and PRN pool of therapists. She was promoted as Staffing Manager, with the primary role of recruiting and hiring new staff members, overseeing of the professional development of the therapists, and coordinating student therapist training. This role was later redesigned, as the Coordinator of Professional development due to some changes in the health system. Her role as the Coordinator opened her up to designing activities for the development of Rehab nurses, and therapists (PT, OT & SLP). She also worked in tandem with the Human Resources department to recruit, hire, and orient new staff members. Abisola also had to oversee of the career development program and redesigning and upgrading the program.

Abisola's work as coordinator of professional development rekindled her desire to pursue a doctorate degree outside the specific field of physical therapy, which would allow her to work with a larger cross-section of healthcare workers. She therefore enrolled at the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas, to pursue a doctorate in Education with the Organizational Leadership specialty. In 2010, she started to work with a large healthcare system in San Antonio as the Director of Rehabilitation and Therapy, with the responsibility of overseeing Inpatient Rehab Facility with the nurses and therapists. I am also in charge of therapy for the acute care and neonatal intensive care therapists.

In December 2015, Abisola completed her degree requirements and graduated with a PhD in Education, with Organizational Leadership concentration.
